Description:   A vulnerability was reported in the Cyrus IMAP server when used with Kerberos authentication, affecting Mac OS X and possibly other operating systems. A remote authenticated user may be able to access another mailbox on the target system.

Apple reported that a remote authenticated user (authenticated using Kerberos) can gain access to other mailboxes by switching to the target mailbox after authentication.

Mac OS X Server v10.2.8 is not affected.

Apple credits johan.gradvall@gothia.se with reporting this flaw.

Impact:   A remote authenticated user can access a target user's mailbox on the same server.
Solution:   For Mac OS X, Apple has issued a fix as part of Security Update 2004-12-02, available at:
