Description:   A denial of service vulnerability was reported in Agnitum's Outpost Firewall Pro. A remote user can cause the firewall to crash.

SecuriTeam reported that a remote user can send a sustained flood of packets to the target system to cause the firewall to consume excessive system resources and eventually crash. Sending a series of small TCP packets with the URG, PSH, SYN, and FIN Flags set and with random source IP addresses at a rate greater than 90 kbps will trigger the flaw, the report said.

Armin Pelkmann is credited with reporting this flaw.

The vendor has reportedly been notified.

Impact:   A remote user can cause the firewall to crash.
Solution:   No solution was available at the time of this entry.
