SecurityTracker Service Specifications and Licensing Options
This page describes some of the standard and optional features of the SecurityTracker Vulnerability Notification Service. Licensing options are also described.
Specifications
SecurityTracker accounts provide the following standard features.
- 24 x 7 x 365 coverage
- Secure browser-based setup with SSL encryption
- Secure SSL encryption for viewing web-based alerts
- SMTP e-mail notification
- Redundant e-mail notification
- Basic e-mail alerts (user selectable)
- Includes title, product name, vendor name, category, underlying operating system, fix indication, exploit indication, vendor confirmed indication, impact summary, alert type, and link to web-based alert
- Message typically contains about 700 characters of text
- Full e-mail alerts (user selectable)
- Includes all basic items, plus description, impact text, cause, solution, and reporter name
- Message may contain 5,000 to 10,000 characters of text or more
- Anonymous e-mail alerts (user selectable)
- Provides no indication of the nature of the vulnerability; just a notice that a profile match has occurred)
- Message typically contains about 600 characters of text
- Full source message available for viewing on web site
- Administrative privilege model (read/write/create/delete and super-user privileges)
- Multiple profiles
- Profile sharing (user selectable)
- No advertising on your web account
- No advertising on alert e-mails
Subscription Level Options
The SecurityTracker Vulnerability Notification Service is available in the following Subscription Levels:
- Basic Enterprise
- All standard features listed above
- Single domain
- Premium Enterprise
- All standard features listed above
- Multiple domains (useful for organizations with separate deparments or business units)
- Customized branding (displays your logo, color preference, font preference)
- Additional e-mail alert formats
- XML formatted e-mail alerts
- Custom formatted e-mail alerts
- Minimum 5-user license required
User Licensing
All direct and indirect recipients of the alerts must have a valid license. Forwarding, posting, or other redistribution of the alerts to non-licensed users is prohibited. Licenses are available in the following quantities:
- 1 User
- 2 User
- 5 User
- 10 User
- 20 User
