A vulnerability was reported in Cisco Catalyst Switch 4500E Series. A remote user can cause denial of service conditions.|
A remote user can send specially crafted packets to or through the target device to cause the supervisor card on the target device to reload.
Cisco has assigned Cisco Bug ID CSCty88456 to this vulnerability.
The Catalyst 4500E series switch with Supervisor Engine 7L-E is affected.
Cisco IOS XE Software Release 03.02.00.XO.15.0(2)XO is affected.
A remote user can cause the supervisor card on the target device to reload.|
The vendor has issued a fix (IOS XE 3.3.0SG).|

The Catalyst 4500E series switch with Supervisor Engine 7L-E contains
a denial of service (DoS) vulnerability when processing specially
crafted packets that can cause a reload of the device.
Cisco has released free software updates that address this
Workarounds that mitigate this vulnerability are not available.
