Description: A vulnerability was reported in Symantec Anti Virus for Macintosh. Certain local users can obtain root privileges on the target system.

A local user with 'admin' group privileges can modify an executable used by the Mount Scan feature. The modified executable will run with root privileges.

Impact: A local user with 'admin' group privileges can obtain root privileges on the target system.

Solution: The vendor has described a workaround in their advisory.
