Description:   Several vulnerabilities were reported in Cisco IOS when running voice services. A remote user can cause denial of service conditions. A remote user may be able to execute arbitrary code on the target device.

A remote user can send a specially crafted SIP packet to cause the target device to crash or potentially execute arbitrary code.

A remote user can send a specially crafted MGCP packet to cause the target device to crash or become unresponsive (preventing new telephone calls). A reboot is required to return the system to normal operations.

A remote user can send a specially crafted H.323 packet to cause the target device to crash.

A remote user can send a specially crafted RTP packet to cause the target device to crash.

A remote user can send a specially crafted facsimile packet to cause the target device to crash.

Cisco discovered some of the vulnerabilities during internal testing. Other vulnerabilities were discovered in customer networks.

Impact:   A remote user can cause the target device to crash or become unresponsive.

A remote user may be able to execute arbitrary code on the target device.

Solution:   The vendor has issued fixed versions. A patch matrix is available in the Cisco advisory.
