Description:   A vulnerability was reported in Solaris. A local user can cause denial of service conditions.

A local user can trigger an integer signedness error in the acl(2) system call to cause the kernel to allocate large amounts of memory and cause a kernel panic.

The vendor was notified on November 7, 2006.

iDefense reported this vulnerability.

Impact:   A local user can cause a kernel panic.
Solution:   Sun has issued the following fix.

SPARC Platform

* Solaris 10 with patch 125100-06 or later

x86 Platform

* Solaris 10 with patch 125101-06 or later
