Description:
A vulnerability was reported in WebLogic Server and Express. A remote user can cause denial of service conditions.
A remote user can create a specially crafted XML document that, when parsed by the target WebLogic Server, will cause the server to run out of memory.
Applications that accept XML data from remote users and pass the data to the parser without canonicalization are affected.

Solution:
The vendor has issued the following fixes [quoted]:
WebLogic Server and WebLogic Express version 8.1
1. Upgrade to WebLogic Server and Express 8.1 Service Pack 5.
WebLogic Server and WebLogic Express version 7.0
1. Upgrade to WebLogic Server and Express 7.0 Service Pack 6.
2. Install the patch from:
ftp://ftpna.beasys.com/pub/releases/security/CR213796_700sp6.jar
3. Place the jar for the patch in the CLASSPATH before the weblogic.jar file.
WebLogic Server 7.0 Service Pack 7 will include the functionality in this patch.
WebLogic Server version 6.1
1. Upgrade to WebLogic Server 6.1 Service Pack 7.
2. Install the patch from:
ftp://ftpna.beasys.com/pub/releases/security/CR213796_610sp7.jar
3. Place the jar for the patch in the CLASSPATH before the weblogic.jar file.
