Description:   A vulnerability was reported in Foxit Reader. A remote user can cause files to be written to and arbitrary code to be executed on the target user's system.

A remote user can create a specially crafted file that, when loaded by the target user, will trigger an input validation flaw in the 'saveAs' JavaScript function and write files on the target user's system. This can be exploited to execute arbitrary code on the target user's system. The code will run with the privileges of the target user.

The vendor was notified on June 22, 2017.

Steven Seeley (mr_me) of Offensive Security (via Trend Micro's Zero Day Initiative) reported this vulnerability.

Impact:   A remote user can create content that, when loaded by the target user, will execute arbitrary code on the target user's system.
Solution:   No solution was available at the time of this entry.

The vendor reportedly does not plan to issue a fix and indicates that 'Secure Mode' (default settings) mitigates this vulnerability.
