Description:   Several vulnerabilities were reported in IBM Tivoli Enterprise Portal Server. A remote user can modify data on the target system. A local user can obtain elevated privileges on the target system. A remote user can execute arbitrary commands on the target system. IBM Tivoli Monitoring is affected.

The system does not encrypt communications between the Tivoli Enterprise Portal client and server.

A local user can access the console connection to gain elevated privileges on the target system [CVE-2017-1181].

A remote user on the local network can modify SQL queries sent via HTTP over the network to the target system [CVE-2017-1183].

A remote user on the local network can send specially crafted data to execute arbitrary commands on the target system [CVE-2017-1182].

Lukasz Mikula at ING Services Polska reported these vulnerabilities.

Impact:   A remote user can modify SQL queries sent to the target system.

A local user can obtain elevated privileges on the target system.

A remote user can execute arbitrary commands on the target system.

Solution:   IBM has issued a fix for IBM Tivoli Monitoring.
