Description:   A vulnerability was reported in the Linux kernel. A local user can obtain elevated privileges on the target system.

A local user can trigger a stack memory allocation flaw in certain cases and execute arbitrary code on the target system with elevated privileges.

The kernel's limited stack guard page memory gap can be "jumped" in cases where heap memory and stack memory are adjacent.

Qualys Research Labs reported this vulnerability.

Impact:   A local user can obtain elevated privileges on the target system.
Solution:   Ubuntu has issued a fix.
