Description:   A vulnerability was reported in Cisco ASA. A remote authenticated user can cause the target system to reload.

A remote authenticated user with a valid IPsec tunnel can send specially crafted IPsec packets to the target system to trigger a parsing error and cause the target system to reload.

Systems configured in routed firewall mode only and in single or multiple context mode are affected.

The following models are affected:

ASA 1000V Cloud Firewall
ASA 5500 Series Adaptive Security Appliances
ASA 5500-X Series Next-Generation Firewalls
ASA Services Module for Cisco Catalyst 6500 Series Switches and Cisco 7600 Series Routers
Adaptive Security Virtual Appliance (ASAv)
Firepower 9300 ASA Security Module
ISA 3000 Industrial Security Appliance

Systems configured to terminate only Clientless SSL or AnyConnect SSL VPNs are not affected.

The vendor has assigned bug ID CSCun16158 to this vulnerability.

Impact:   A remote authenticated user can cause the target system to reload.
Solution:   The vendor has issued a fix (9.1(7.8), 9.2(4.15), 9.4(4), 9.5(3.2), 9.6(2)).
