Description:   Two vulnerabilities were reported in VMware AirWatch for Android. A local user can obtain potentially sensitive information. A local user can obtain elevated privileges on the target system.

A local user can bypass root detection during enrollment and gain control of local Airwatch security controls and data [CVE-2017-4895].

Airwatch Agent is affected.

A local user on a rooted device can decrypt the application's local data to obtain potentially sensitive information [CVE-2017-4896].

Airwatch Console and Airwatch Inbox are affected.

Finn Steglich from SySS GmbH reported these vulnerabilities.

Impact:   A local user can obtain potentially sensitive information on the target system.

A local user can obtain elevated privileges on the target system.

Solution:   The vendor has issued a fix (Agent 7.0; Console 9.0 FP1 [plus use Pin-Based Encryption]; Inbox 2.12 [plus use Pin-Based Encryption]).
