Description:   A vulnerability was reported in EMC Data Domain OS. A local user can obtain root privileges on the target system.

A local administrator user can bypass the Data Domain restricted shell (ddsh) to execute arbitrary commands on the target system with root privileges.

Geoffrey Janjua from Northrop Grumman reported this vulnerability.

Impact:   A local user can obtain root privileges on the target system.
Solution:   The vendor has issued a fix (5.5.5.0, 5.6.2.0, 5.7.2.10; Advisory ESA-2016-160).
