Description:   Multiple vulnerabilities were reported in Microsoft Internet Explorer. A remote user can cause arbitrary code to be executed on the target user's system. A remote user can conduct cross-site scripting attacks.

A remote user can create specially crafted content that, when loaded by the target user, will trigger a memory corruption error and execute arbitrary code on the target system [CVE-2013-3115, CVE-2013-3143, CVE-2013-3144, CVE-2013-3145, CVE-2013-3146, CVE-2013-3147, CVE-2013-3148, CVE-2013-3149, CVE-2013-3150, CVE-2013-3151, CVE-2013-3152, CVE-2013-3153, CVE-2013-3161, CVE-2013-3162, CVE-2013-3163, CVE-2013-3164]. The code will run with the privileges of the target user.

The browser does not properly handle the encoding for Shift_JIS auto-selection [CVE-2013-3166]. A remote user can cause arbitrary scripting code to be executed by the target user's browser. The code will originate from a different domain and will run in the security context of that site. As a result, the code will be able to access the target user's cookies (including authentication cookies), if any, associated with the site, access data recently submitted by the target user via web form to the site, or take actions on the site acting as the target user.

Ivan Fratric and Ben Hawkes of the Google Security Team, SkyLined (via HP's Zero Day Initiative), Simon Zuckerbraun (via HP's Zero Day Initiative), Toan Pham Van (via HP's Zero Day Initiative), Aniway.Anyway@gmail.com (via HP's Zero Day Initiative), Bluesea (via HP's Zero Day Initiative), Omair (via HP's Zero Day Initiative), an anonymous researcher (via HP's Zero Day Initiative), e6af8de8b1d4b2b6d5ba2610cbf9cd38 (via HP's Zero Day Initiative), Jose Antonio Vazquez Gonzalez (via VeriSign iDefense Labs), Scott Bell of Security-Assessment.com, and Masato Kinugawa reported these vulnerabilities.

Impact:   A remote user can create content that, when loaded by the target user, will execute arbitrary code on the target user's system.

A remote user can access the target user's cookies (including authentication cookies), if any, associated with an arbitrary site, access data recently submitted by the target user via web form to the site, or take actions on the site acting as the target user.

Solution:   The vendor has issued a fix.

A patch matrix is available in the vendor's advisory.

A restart is required.
