Description:
Several vulnerabilities were reported in Symantec Message Filter. A remote user can conduct cross-site scripting attacks. A remote user can conduct cross-site request forgery attacks. A remote authenticated user can conduct session fixation attacks. A remote user can obtain potentially sensitive information.
A remote user can obtain potentially sensitive application versioning information [CVE-2012-0300].
A remote authenticated user can conduct session fixation attacks to obtain elevated privileges [CVE-2012-0301].
A remote user cause arbitrary scripting code to be executed by the target user's browser [CVE-2012-0302]. The code will originate from the site running the Symantec Brightmail software and will run in the security context of that site. As a result, the code will be able to access the target user's cookies (including authentication cookies), if any, associated with the site, access data recently submitted by the target user via web form to the site, or take actions on the site acting as the target user.
A remote user can conduct cross-site request forgery attacks to take actions on the site acting as the target user [CVE-2012-0303].
The Brightmail Control Center component of Symantec Brightmail Message Filter is affected by these vulnerabilities.
Ben Williams with NGS Secure reported these vulnerabilities.
