Description:
Two vulnerabilities were reported in Microsoft .NET Framework. A remote user can cause arbitrary code to be executed on the target user's system. A remote user can cause denial of service conditions.
A remote user can create a specially crafted file that, when loaded by the target user via an XAML browser application, will trigger a buffer allocation error and execute arbitrary code on the target system or bypass Code Access Security (CAS) restrictions [CVE-2012-0162]. The code will run with the privileges of the target user.
Vitaliy Toropov (via Tipping Point's Zero Day Initiative) reported this vulnerability.
A remote user can trigger an index comparison error and cause applications that use Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) APIs to stop responding until manually restarted [CVE-2012-0164].
|
Impact:
A remote user can create a file that, when loaded by the target user, will execute arbitrary code on the target user's system.
A remote user can cause applications that use Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) APIs to stop responding. A manual restart is required to return to normal operations.
