Description:
A vulnerability was reported in Microsoft Office. A remote user can cause arbitrary code to be executed on the target user's system.
A remote user can create a specially crafted Excel file that, when loaded by the target user via Microsoft Office, will trigger a memory corruption error or heap overflow and execute arbitrary code on the target system. The code will run with the privileges of the target user.
Microsoft Excel Viewer and Microsoft Office Compatibility Pack SP2/SP3 are also affected.
Omair (via iDefense), Sean Larsson and Jun Mao (via iDefense), and an anonymous researcher (via TippingPoint's Zero Day Initiative) reported these vulnerabilities.
