Description:
A vulnerability was reported in Adobe Acrobat/Reader. A remote user can cause arbitrary code to be executed on the target user's system.
A remote user can create a specially crafted file that, when loaded by the target user, will execute arbitrary code on the target system. The code will run with the privileges of the target user.
The 'Authplay.dll' component is affected.
This vulnerability is being actively exploited.
The vendor reports that Protected Mode in Adobe Reader version 10.x for Windows prevents exploitation.

Impact:
A remote user can create a file that, when loaded by the target user, will execute arbitrary code on the target user's system.

Solution:
The vendor has issued a fix (9.4.4, 10.0.3) for Adobe Acrobat for Windows and Macintosh and a fix (10.0.3) for Adobe Reader for Macintosh.
The vendor plans to issue a fix for Adobe Reader X for Windows as part of the next quarterly security update for Adobe Reader, currently scheduled for June 14, 2011.
