Description:
A vulnerability was reported in Microsoft Internet Explorer 8 Developer Tools. A remote user can cause arbitrary code to be executed on the target user's system.
A remote user can create specially crafted HTML that, when loaded by the target user, will invoke the Developer Tools ActiveX Control (iedvtool.dll) and execute arbitrary code on the target system. The code will run with the privileges of the target user.
The CLSID of the vulnerable control is: 8fe85d00-4647-40b9-87e4-5eb8a52f4759
Chris Ries of Carnegie Mellon University Computing Services reported this vulnerability.
