Description:
A vulnerability was reported in Sophos Anti-Virus. A remote user can execute arbitrary code on the target system.
A remote user can send a Microsoft Cabinet file that contains specially crafted and invalid folder count values in the CAB header. When the CAB file is parsed, a buffer overflow will occur and arbitrary code will be executed on the target system.
Systems with cabinet file inspection enabled are affected.
The PureMessage and MailMonitor products are also affected.
The vendor was notified on March 20, 2006.
