Description:
A vulnerability was reported in Usermin in the 'maketemp.pl' script. A local user may be able to gain elevated privileges.
The vendor reported that the script creates the '/tmp/.usermin' directory in an unsafe manner during installation. A local user can create a symbolic link (symlink) from a critical file on the system to the temporary directory name. Then, when Usermin is installed, the symlinked file will be overwritten.
According to Debian, Ludwig Nussel discovered this flaw.

Impact:
A local user can obtain elevated (root) privileges on the target system.

> Fixed a security hole in the maketemp.pl script, used to create the /tmp/.usermin
