Description:   A vulnerability was reported in WebLogic Server and WebLogic Express during deployment when an internal error occurs. An application may be deployed with incomplete security protections.

BEA Systems reported that when security roles and policies are being read from the deployment descriptors during deployment and an internal error occurs in one of the security providers, the application may be deployed with "incomplete security" and some errors may not be reported.

Impact:   Applications may be deployed with incomplete security roles and policies.
Solution:   The vendor has provided following fix information [quoted]:

* For WebLogic Server 8.1: Upgrade to WebLogic 8.1 Service Pack 3.

* For WebLogic Server 7.0 perform the following steps:
1. Upgrade to WebLogic Server 7.0 Service Pack 5
2. Apply the patch
ftp://ftpna.beasys.com/pub/releases/security/CR157157_70sp5.jar

The fix will be included in WebLogic Server 7.0 Service Pack 6.
