What is SecurityTracker?
SecurityTracker is a service that helps you to keep track of the latest security vulnerabilites. We monitor a wide variety of Internet sources for reports of new vulnerabilities in Internet software, hardware, and/or services.
We provide our subscribers with a timely and reliable source for vulnerability notification.
This FAQ covers the SecurityTracker web site. We have a separate FAQ that covers our premium Vulnerability Notification Service.
Does SecurityTracker Include CVE References?
Yes. Our Alerts include Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVE) numbers, when available. Our Search capability also supports searching based on CVE numbers.
To locate a specific CVE reference, type the CVE number into the search box and a list of matching SecurityTracker Alerts will be displayed. A single CVE number may have several matching alerts.
To local a CVE number within one of our alerts, see the field marked "CVE Reference" located on each alert page just under the SecurityTracker Alert ID and URL. CVE candidates that have not yet been accepted as official CVE numbers have a "CAN-" designation instead of a "CVE-" designation.
When a candidate is promoted to become an official CVE entry, the designation will change from "CAN-" to "CVE-".
We monitor for changes in CVE on a daily basis and update our alerts as soon as possible when changes are made.
CVE is a list or dictionary that provides common names for publicly known information security vulnerabilities and exposures.

How Do I Subscribe to SecurityTracker?
You can subscribe to our free weekly SecurityTracker Alert Summary e-mail list on our signup page. It is pretty easy to sign up.
We also offer a paid subscription-based SecurityTracker Vulnerability Notification Service that you can configure to receive customized alerts when a vulnerability is reported in a product of specific interest to you. How Can I Report a Vulnerability That I Discovered?
You may submit original vulnerability reports to us at bugs@securitytracker.com. We will assume that your report is for immediate release unless you specify a release time.
