Description:   A vulnerability was reported in Symantec Mail Security. A remote user can cause arbitrary code to be executed on the target system.

A remote user can create a specially crafted OLE document that, when processed by the target application, will trigger an integer overflow in the Autonomy KeyView Filter component and execute arbitrary code on the target system. The code will run with the privileges of the target application.

Symantec Mail Security for Domino and Symantec Mail Security for Microsoft Exchange are affected.

Symantec Mail Security for SMTP 5.0.x is also affected.

The vendor was notified on September 28, 2009.

Joshua J. Drake of iDefense Labs reported this vulnerability.

Impact:   A remote user can create a file that, when processed by the target application, will execute arbitrary code on the target system.
Solution:   The vendor has issued a fix (SMSDOM 7.5.9, SMSDOM 8.0.3, SMSMSE 6.0.10).
