Description:  A vulnerability was reported in Ruby WEBrick. A remote user can cause denial of service conditions.

A remote user can send a specially crafted HTTP request to cause the target web service to consume an excessive amount of time processing the request.

The vulnerability resides in the WEBrick::HTTP::DefaultFileHandler in the WEBrick::HTTPUtils.split_header_value() function.

Christian Neukirchen reported this vulnerability.

Impact:  A remote user can cause the web service to consume excessive amount of time responding to a request.
Solution:  The vendor has issued a fix (1.8.6-p287, 1.8.7-p72), available at:
