Description:  A vulnerability was reported in Solaris snoop(1M). A remote user can execute arbitrary code on the target system.

A remote user can send specially crafted SMB data to execute arbitrary code on the target system.

The system is affected if the snoop(1M) utility is invoked without the '-o' command line option.

The code will run with the privileges of the target user, except that for root users the code will run with 'nobody' user privileges.

Gael Delalleau reported this vulnerability via iDefense.

Impact:  A remote user can execute arbitrary code on the target system.
Solution:  Sun has issued a fix:

* Solaris 8 with patch 108964-11
* OpenSolaris based upon builds snv_96 or later
