Description: A vulnerability was reported in IBM Lotus Notes in the Folio Flat File viewer. A remote user can cause arbitrary code to be executed on the target user's system.
A remote user can create a specially crafted Folio Flat File (.fff) file that, when viewed by the target user, will trigger a stack
overflow and execute arbitrary code on the target system. The code will run with the privileges of the target user.
The vulnerability
resides in 'foliosr.dll' in the processing of certain tags, including the DI, FD, FT, JD, JL, LE, OB, OD, OL, PN, PS, PW, RD, QL,
and TS tags.
The vendor was notified on December 28, 2007.
The vendor has assigned SPR# PRAD7AM3LG to this vulnerability.

Secunia Research has discovered 21 vulnerabilities in Lotus Notes,
which can be exploited by malicious people to compromise a vulnerable
system.
Boundary errors within the "Folio Flat File" speed reader
(foliosr.dll) when handling attribute values of a number of tags (eg.
DI, FD, FT, JD, JL, LE, OB, OD, OL, PN, PS, PW, RD, QL, or TS) can be
exploited to cause stack-based buffer overflows.
