Description:  Several vulnerabilities were reported in Wireshark. A remote user can cause denial of service conditions.

A remote user can send specially crafted data to cause the target service to crash.

A specially crafted MP3 file can trigger a crash.

A specially crafted DNP packet can cause Wireshark to loop excessively. Beyond Security reported this vulnerability.

Specially crafted SSL data can trigger a buffer overflow. Stefan Esser reported this vulnerability.

Specially crafted ANSI MAP data can trigger a buffer overflow on some platforms.

A specially crafted Firebird/Interbase packet can trigger a crash or cause Wireshark to enter an infinite loop.

A specially crafted NCP packet can trigger a crash.

A specially crafted HTTP chunked message can trigger a crash.

A specially crafted MEGACO packet can cause Wireshark to enter a large loop and consume excessive system resources.

A specially crafted DCP ETSI packet can cause Wireshark to enter a large loop and consume excessive system resources.

A specially crafted iSeries (OS/400) Communication trace file can trigger a buffer overflow. Fabiodds reported this vulnerability.

A specially crafted PPP packet can trigger a buffer overflow.

A specially crafted Bluetooth SDP packet can cause Wireshark to enter an infinite loop.

A specially crafted RPC Portmap packet can trigger a crash.

Impact:  A remote user can cause denial of service conditions.
Solution:  The vendor has issued a fixed version (0.99.7).
