Description: Two vulnerabilities were reported in Mozilla Firefox. A remote user can cause arbitrary code to be executed on the target user's system.
A remote user can create HTML that sets the src attribute of an IMG tag to a specially crafted javascript: URI that, when loaded
by the target user, will execute arbitrary code on the target system. The code will run with the privileges of the target user.
This
vulnerability was introduced in 1.5.0.9 and 2.0.0.1.
moz_bug_r_a4 reported this vulnerability.
The browser allows javascript:
URIs in IMG tags to be executed even if JavaScript execution is disabled in the global preferences.
moz_bug_r_a4 and Anbo Motohiko
independently reported this vulnerability.
Thunderbird is not affected.

Impact: A remote user can create HTML that, when loaded by the target user, will execute arbitrary code on the target user's system.

Solution: The vendor has issued a fix (1.5.0.10, 2.0.0.2).
