Description:  A vulnerability was reported in QuickTime. A remote user can cause arbitrary code to be executed on the target user's system.

A remote user can create a specially crafted '.mov' file that, when loaded by the target user, will trigger a heap overflow in JVTCompEncodeFrame() and execute arbitrary code on the target system. The code will run with the privileges of the target user.

The vendor was notified on March 28, 2006.

Tom Ferris of security-protocols.com discovered this vulnerability.

Impact:  A remote user can create a file that, when loaded by the target user, will execute arbitrary code on the target user's system.
Solution:  Apple has issued a fix (7.2), in July 2007, available from the Software Update application, or from the Apple Downloads site at:
