Description: A vulnerability was reported in Solaris in syslog(3c). A local user can cause denial of service conditions.
A local user can disable the syslog(3c) function. As a result, messages will not be written to the system log.

Impact: A local user can disable syslog on the target system.

Solution: Sun has issued the following fixes.

* Solaris 8 with patch 117350-38 or later
* Solaris 9 with patch
118558-29 or later
* Solaris 10 with patch 118833-19 or later

* Solaris 8 with patch 117351-38 or later
* Solaris 9 with patch 118559-29 or later
