Description:  A vulnerability was reported in CruiseWorks. A remote user can execute arbitrary code on the target system. A remote user can view files on the target system.

The '/scripts/cruise/cws.exe' process does not properly validate user-supplied input in the 'doc' parameter.

A remote user can supply a specially crafted request containing '../' directory traversal characters to view files on target system that are located outside of the document directory.

A demonstration exploit URL is provided:

A remote user can also send specially crafted data to trigger a buffer overflow and execute arbitrary code on the target system. The code will run with the privileges of the target web service.

The vendor was notified on July 20, 2006.
