Description: A vulnerability was reported in Symantec Norton Anti-Virus. A remote user can cause arbitrary code to be executed on the target user's system.
A remote user can create specially crafted HTML that, when loaded by the target user, will trigger a stack overflow in a Symantec
Automated Support Assistant ActiveX control and execute arbitrary code on the target system. The code will run with the privileges
of the target user.
The ActiveX control can only be scripted in certain domains, so the remote user must spoof one of those domains
to deliver the specially crafted code.
Symantec Automated Support Assistant is included in other Symantec consumer products.
Symantec Corporate and Enterprise products are not affected.
Next Generation Security Research discovered this vulnerability.
