Description:  A vulnerability was reported in UltimateZip. A remote user can cause arbitrary code to be executed on the target user's system.

A remote user can create an ACE archive with a file that has a specially crafted filename. When the archive is extracted, a buffer overflow will occur in 'unacev2.dll' and arbitrary code will be executed on the target user's system. The code will run with the privileges of the target user.

The vendor was notified on April 26, 2006 and later dates, without response.

Secunia Research discovered this vulnerability.

Impact:  A remote user can create an archive that, when extracted by the target user, will execute arbitrary code on the target user's system.

3) Description of Vulnerability

Secunia Research has discovered a vulnerability in UltimateZip, which
can be exploited by malicious people to compromise a user's system.

The vulnerability is caused due to a boundary error in UNACEV2.DLL 
when extracting an ACE archive containing a file with an overly long
filename. This can be exploited to cause a stack-based buffer overflow
when a user extracts a specially crafted ACE archive.
