Description: A vulnerability was reported in TZipBuilder. A remote user can cause arbitrary code to be executeed on the target user's system.
The software contains a buffer overflow that can be triggered by listing the contents of a ZIP archive that includes a file with
a specially crafted filename. A remote user can create a ZIP archive with a file with a specially crafted filename. When the archive
contents are listed by the target user (or an application that uses the affected software), a buffer overflow will occur and arbitrary
code will be executed on the target user's system. The code will run with the privileges of the target user.
The vendor was
notified on May 3, 2006.
Tan Chew Keong of Secunia Research discovered this vulnerability.

3) Description of Vulnerability
Secunia Research has discovered a vulnerability in TZipBuilder, which
can be exploited by malicious people to compromise a user's system.
The vulnerability is caused due to a boundary error when listing the
contents of a ZIP archive that contains a file with an overly long
filename. This can be exploited to cause a stack-based buffer overflow
when a specially crafted ZIP archive is opened.
Successful exploitation allows execution of arbitrary code with the
privileges of an application that uses the library.
