Description:  A vulnerability was reported in the Linux Kernel. A local user can cause denial of service conditions.

A local user can create a specially crafted ELF executable that, when loaded, will cause an endless recursive fault. As a result, the system may crash.

The vulnerability resides in 'fs/binfmt_elf.c'.

Intel EM64T systems are affected. AMD-based systems are not affected.

Impact:  A local user can cause the system to crash.
Solution:  The vendor has issued a fixed version (2.6.15.5), available at:
