Description:  A vulnerability was reported in Linux Kernel. A remote user can cause denial of service conditions.

A remote user can send data with a specially crafted chunk length value to cause an endless loop.

The flaw resides in the xt_sctp code.

Impact:  A remote user can cause denial of service conditions.
Solution:  The vendor has issued a fixed version (2.6.17.1).
