Description:  A vulnerability was reported in Windows Server Message Block processing. A local user can obtain elevated privileges on the target system. A local user can cause denial of service conditions.

Certain SMB requests are not properly validated. A local user can run a specially crafted application to execute arbitrary code with elevated privileges on the target system. The user can take full control of the system.

A local user can also cause denial of service conditions on the target system.

Microsoft credits iDEFENSE with reporting these vulnerabilities.
