Description: A vulnerability was reported in eBay Picture Manager ActiveX control. A remote user can cause arbitrary code to be executed on the target user's system.
A remote user can create specially crafted HTML that, when loaded by the target user, will trigger a buffer overflow in the EPUImageControl
COM object in 'EUPWALcontrol.dll' and execute arbitrary code on the target system. The code will run with the privileges of the
target user.
The affected control is used by the "eBay Sell Your Item" page.

Impact: A remote user can create HTML that, when loaded by the target user, will execute arbitrary code on the target user's system.
|
Solution: The vendor has issued a fixed version (1.0.3.48 or later versions). When an eBay seller uses the ActiveX control, the user will
automatically be prompted to update the control.
US-CERT reports that, as a workaround, you can disable the control by setting
the kill bit on the following CSLID:
