Description:  A vulnerability was reported in Squid in the NTLM fakeauth_auth helper. A remote user can trigger a segmentation fault.

There is a memory leak in Squid in the NTLM fakeauth_auth helper [CVE-2005-0096]. Under high load or when running for a long period of time, the application may run out of memory. In addition, a remote user can send a specially crafted NTLM type 3 message to cause a segmentation fault [CVE-2005-0097].

Duane Wessels reported the memory leak vulnerability.

Impact:  A remote user can cause denial of service conditions.
Solution:  A patch is available:
